What happens next
1. We review your referral
Once we receive your referral, we’ll check that i-access is the right service for you.
If we can support you, we aim to offer you an initial assessment within 21 days.
Please respond to any invitation to book your assessment as soon as you can. This helps avoid delays.
2. Your initial assessment
Your assessment is a chance for us to understand what is happening for you. You can also ask questions and talk about what support you might need.
Most assessments take place by phone and last up to 45 minutes.
We can also arrange a face-to-face appointment if this works better for you. If you may need medication, we may offer a longer appointment or arrange part of your assessment in person.
3. After your assessment
After your assessment, you’ll be allocated a keyworker. They will work with you to plan your support and agree the next steps.
Your keyworker will contact you with details of your next appointment, including the time and location.
Accessibility and communication needs
Please tell us if you need any support to access your assessment or appointments.
For example, we can arrange:
- an interpreter
- British Sign Language support
- an accessible clinic location
- support if you find phone calls difficult
- sensory tools to help you engage
