A national research project is looking at how drug and alcohol treatment services support people with their physical health.

We want to hear from people who have experience of using these services. Your views can help improve how treatment and healthcare services work together.

Who can take part?

You can take part if you have used a drug or alcohol treatment service within the last two years.

Your experiences can help improve support for others in the future.

What taking part involves

Taking part means having a short conversation with a peer researcher about:

  • Your physical health needs
  • Whether treatment services discussed your physical health
  • Any support you received

You can choose what you want to talk about. You do not have to answer any questions you do not want to.

Thank you for your time

Everyone who takes part will receive a £15 voucher to thank them for sharing their experiences.

This is a one-off thank you gift and will not affect any benefits you receive.

Your information

Your participation is confidential and voluntary.

  • Your name will not appear in the research findings
  • Anything you share will be anonymised
  • You can stop the conversation at any time

With your permission, the discussion may be audio recorded so the research team can make accurate notes. Recordings will be deleted after notes are completed.

Do I have to take part?

No. Taking part is completely your choice.

If you decide not to take part, it will not affect any support or services you receive.

You can also withdraw up to one week after the conversation, and your information will be removed from the research.

About the research

The project is being carried out by Revolving Doors, a national charity that works with people who have lived experience of multiple disadvantage to improve services and policy.

The research aims to improve pathways between treatment services and physical healthcare so fewer people die early due to unmet health needs.
